Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Analyze current gaps in Epic tool adoption and workflow integration that contribute to documentation burden, inefficient care coordination, and variable patient access.

  2. Apply practical strategies for integrating Epic and AI-enabled tools, such as ambient documentation, chart summarization, referral workflows, and digital patient engagement tools, into clinical practice.

  3. Compare effective workflow redesign approaches used across specialties and care settings to improve efficiency, standardization, and clinician experience.

  4. Assess barriers to implementation, including training, workflow variation, and operational constraints, and identify strategies to improve adoption and sustained use.

  5. Create an action plan to implement at least one Epic optimization or digital workflow improvement within the learner’s own practice or department.
