Dr. Bann Al‑Shammaa is a board‑certified pediatrician and Assistant Medical Director with a dual role in clinical practice and informatics. As a physician builder on Inova's clinical informatics team, Dr. Al‑Shammaa focuses on optimizing electronic health record workflows, enhancing clinician experience, and advancing data‑driven quality improvement.

In addition to clinical and informatics leadership, Dr. Al‑Shammaa serves as faculty for both the pediatric residency program and UVA SOM, where she is dedicated to mentoring learners and integrating technology, evidence‑based practice, and systems thinking into medical education.

Her professional interests include clinical workflow design, pediatric quality and safety, clinician well‑being, and the intersection of care delivery and health‑information technology.
