John Lawrence, BSN, RN, NPD-BC, is a Clinical Informatics Specialist at Inova, where he works with clinical and operational teams to optimize EMR systems, streamline workflows and develop data-driven solutions. In his role, John serves as model steward for a lab data model supporting advanced analytics and has contributed to improvements in pathology productivity reporting, sepsis predictive model and workflow adoption, and lab specimen labeling safety.

Previously, John spent nearly 10 years as Sepsis Coordinator at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, where he led population health quality improvement efforts across stroke, sepsis, pneumonia and heart failure. He currently chairs Inova's Enterprise Data Strategy & Oversight Committee and has contributed to published research on social drivers of health and sepsis care. His honors include the Inova Nursing Excellence Award (2021), the 'Trish' Seifert Innovation Award (2022) and the Virginia Nurses Association '40 Under 40' Award (2023).
