Transplant Day 2026 includes discussion about clinical updates, patient and disease management from all transplant departments including heart, lung, kidney, kidney/pancreas, stem cell and multi-solid organ transplant. We will also be discussing donor referral process, donor care unit, challenges in the process of donation and psychosocial concerns in the transplant process.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify signs, symptoms and risk factors associated with end stage heart, lung and kidney diseases to facilitate timely referrals of patients for thoracic and/or abdominal organ transplantation.
  • Describe current indications/contraindications and criteria for referral and listing of potential thoracic and abdominal organ transplant recipients.
  • Describe the multidisciplinary approach to identification and work up of organ transplant recipients including diagnostic testing, assessment by specialists/ancillary team members and committee discussions.
  • Describe different types of organ transplantation with their perioperative management.
  • Improve stem cell transplant knowledge from presentation on Car-t treatment.
