Program Description

Transplant Day 2026 includes discussions on clinical updates, patient care, and disease management across all transplant programs, including heart, lung, kidney, kidney-pancreas, stem cell, and multi-organ transplantation. The program will also address the donor referral process, donor care unit operations, challenges associated with organ donation and transplantation, and psychosocial concerns throughout the transplant process.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for providers in all specialties.  Everyone is invited to attend. 

 

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize clinical signs, symptoms, and risk factors of end-stage heart, lung, and kidney disease to support timely and appropriate referrals for thoracic and abdominal organ transplantation.

  • Describe current indications/contraindications and criteria for referral and listing of potential thoracic and abdominal organ transplant recipients.

  • Describe the multidisciplinary approach to identification and work up of organ transplant recipients including diagnostic testing, assessment by specialists/ancillary team members and committee discussions.

  • Describe different types of organ transplantation with their perioperative management.

  • Improve stem cell transplant knowledge from presentation on Car-t treatment.

Parking is complimentary at the Inova Center for Personalized Health Conference Center (ICPH) . Park in any Surface Lots.  Use Entrance 3 under the pedestrian bridge to enter the Conference Center and take stairs or elevator to level 2.
