Transplant Nutrition Educator

Shilpa Karthikeyan, MS, RDN, LD/N, CCTD - is a highly experienced Registered Dietitian with more than 20 years of expertise in transplant, renal, oncology, geriatric and community nutrition. She currently serves as a Transplant Nutrition Educator at Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she provides clinical evaluation, nutrition recommendations, patient education, and dietetic support for adult renal transplant patients. Throughout her career, Shilpa has held progressive clinical and leadership roles at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, DaVita Dialysis, Collier County Health Department in Florida and the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, where she led community nutrition and public health initiatives. Her diverse background spans across transplant coordination, renal nutrition, oncology care, patient education, clinical research, and public health. Recognized for her patient-centered approach, Shilpa is passionate about empowering individuals through evidence-based nutrition care and advocacy. She remains committed to advancing health outcomes by combining clinical excellence, compassionate care, and collaborative leadership.
