Join healthcare professionals from across disciplines for a virtual half- day event focused on addressing health disparities through trust-building, effective communication and community-informed care. Through practical insights and local strategies, speakers will highlight approaches to strengthening patient engagement, addressing health misinformation, and leveraging partnerships with trusted community messengers to better support patients, families and care teams.

 

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers, Health, Professions Students, Social Workers, and other allied healthcare professionals. The content of this activity is applicable to healthcare providers in all medical specialties. 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify common ways patients seek health information and apply strategies to help patients evaluate, fact-check, and use accurate, evidence-based health resources

  2. Discuss approaches healthcare entities can use to strengthen community trust through sustained relationship building and partnerships with trusted messengers

  3. Identify state and local policies and approaches aimed at building trust and addressing healthcare disparities within communities
