Cultural Humility in Clinical Practice with Transgender and Non-Binary Individuals

Description

This is a 1.5-hour training for all Inova clinicians and providers on the topic of clinical practice with transgender and non-binary individuals, with the focus of improving cultural humility in clinical interactions and cultural environments. The recording itself is 1-hour and include 30-minutes of accompanying activities, two 10-minute reflections and one 10-minute video. All must be completed for credit.

Course Objectives: Distinguish between gender and sex assigned at birth, and define other terminology relevant to practice with this population. Identify disparities faced by this population and understand why this awareness is vital to improving health equity and outcomes for this population. Implement tangible skills to improve clinical interactions with this population and establish clinical environments that better support this population.
