Description:

The FCCS curriculum is intended to introduce principles important in the initial care of critically ill/injured patients to physicians, physicians-in-training, nurses and other healthcare providers who may or may not be skilled in critical care but who must care for such patients during the early stabilization and in anticipation of the arrival of an intensivist, specialist or pending transfer of a patient to a tertiary center. The FCCS course was prepared under the direction of the Society of Critical Care Medicine by leading critical care educators in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, nursing, pediatrics and surgery. The content was developed with input from international critical care experts.

The Medical Society of Virginia is a member of the Southern States CME Collaborative, an ACCME Recognized Accreditor. Inova Health System Office of Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Southern States CME Collaborative to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation Statement

The Inova Office of Continuing Medical Education designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 14.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) ™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Physicians may claim up to 14.0 credits in Type 1 CME on the Virginia Board of Medicine Continued Competency and Assessment Form required for renewal of an active medical license in Virginia.
