Medical Director, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

Dr. Terek came to Inova Fairfax in 2013 following her fellowship in critical care medicine at George Washington University Hospital. In joining Medical Critical Care Services (MCCS), she has been involved in many initiatives throughout the hospital including critical care education, formerly directing the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) course. She has been the physician chair of the Inova Fairfax MSET committee since 2015, and more recently engaged with colleagues from anesthesia and surgery in initiating the difficult airway response team in 2022. She served on the critical care peer review committee as its co-chair and more recently elected to Inova Fairfax Medical executive committee for the past two years. She looks forward to continuing her goal of systematically and consistently improving the care for patients she is privileged to serve at Inova by collaborating with the multidisciplinary team in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
