Jaclyn Nunziato, MS, MD, IBCLC, FACOG
Dr. Jaclyn Nunziato is a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist who is very passionate about providing the highest level of care to her patients, through practicing evidence-based medicine, providing patient education, and empowering women to play a major role in their health and overall wellbeing. She loves the diversity of practicing both obstetrics and gynecology which allows her focus on patients ranging from adolescents through menopause. She is a dedicated teacher/educator both at VTC medical school and within the community. Dr. Nunziato is the 2023 Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine recipient and has received several academic teaching awards including the APGO Excellence award and the SASCOG teacher of the year. She is actively involved in cirriculum development through Health System Science. Dr. Nunziato has earned several certifications including perinatal mental health and breastfeeding medicine. She is the Medical Director of Women’s Ambulatory Quality and Community Engagement and the Director of Health System Science in Ob/Gyn at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine . She is actively involved in quality improvement, policy, and advocacy at a local, state and national level. Her academic niche is focused on Trauma-informed care and her research is focused on TIC and perinatal mental health. Dr. Nunziato founded and is the Executive Director of 501c3 non-profit called Huddle Up Moms dedicated to empowering women through connection, support, and education. The non-profit has raised over over 50,000 dollars helping to close the gap between health care and community and is helping to improve care for mothers in Southwest Virginia.
