Chung-Han Lee, MD/PhD
VP, Early Clinical Development at Exelixis
I am currently the VP of early clinical development at Exelixis, where I lead a team of 6 physicians who are responsible for the clinical development of 11 assets across a pipeline consisting of small molecules, ADCs, and novel immunotherapies. As the lead of early development, I am also the development representative for 4 franchise teams, which are directly accountable to the executive leadership committee for cross-functional strategic guidance. In addition to those roles, I also co-lead the genitourinary oncology therapeutic area team, which provides disease-specific guidance across the company’s portfolio (early and late).
Prior to joining Exelixis, I was a medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the Genitourinary Oncology Service specialized in kidney cancer for ~12 years. I have been the global and site PI for many clinical trials, where I lead the clinical development of various novel treatments in kidney cancer. Studies where I have been the lead investigator have resulted in 4 NCCN designations and several oral presentations at major scientific congresses including ASCO and ESMO. I also built upon my prior MD/PhD training to led the kidney cancer translational program at MSKCC. There I built an external funded program (NIH, DOD, philanthropy) and have mentored several fellows and junior faculty members.
