Laura Alder, MD, is a thoracic medical oncologist at Duke University Cancer Institute. She also serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.  Dr Alder specializes in lung cancer. Her research focuses on advancing biomarker directed treatments and novel targets for all stages of lung cancer, optimizing treatment for patients with lung cancer and brain metastases, and improving access to health care for women and minorities facing lung cancer.  She is also passionate about excellence in patient care, clinical trials, and medical education. She completed internal medicine training at VCU Health and completed fellowship in hematology and oncology at Duke University.
