Bhiken Naik, MBBCh, MSCR, is Vice Chair for Clinical Research, Professor of Anesthesiology and Neurological Surgery and Associate Director of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at the University of Virginia. He is board certified in Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Neurocritical Care. His fields of research include major spine surgery and hemostasis management, factors associated with acute kidney injury, perioperative opioid management and multicenter perioperative database-driven research and quality improvement.  His recent work has focused on improving data equity for low middle income countries by leveraging computer vision, artificial intelligence to digitize perioperative anesthesia records in real-time and create publicly available datasets to improve outcomes.
