Lourdes Romero Carhuapoma, PhD, CRNP is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of patients with acute neurological injury at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Carhuapoma’s research focuses on examining survivor recovery trajectories in patient-centered terms to optimize goals of care decision making for patients with acute neurological injury. 

Dr. Carhuapoma earned her BSN and MS from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Georgetown University, and PhD from the University of Virginia. She is the recipient of the 2018-2019 Johnson & Johnson/American Association of Colleges of Nursing Minority Nurse Faculty Scholarship.
