Limited spaces available to experience two separate high-fidelity endocrine obstetric emergency simulation scenarios and then debrief afterwards.
Simulation #1: Diabetic Ketoacidosis in Pregnancy Due to Pyelonephritis
This scenario highlights the rapid deterioration of a pregnant patient with Type 1 diabetes triggered by an infection, leading to diabetic ketoacidosis. The simulation will help attendees learn more about the urgency of fluid resuscitation, insulin therapy, and multidisciplinary coordination to stabilize both pregnancy individuals and fetuses
Simulation #2: Thyrotoxicosis in Pregnancy
This simulation explores the presentation of thyroid storm in a pregnant patient with Graves’ disease, marked by fever, tachycardia, and altered mental status. Attendees will learn and explore more about prompt pharmacologic intervention and careful maternal-fetal monitoring to prevent life-threatening complications.

Shuttle will provide transportation from Inova Center for Personalized Health Conference Center (ICPH) to Inova Fairfax Hospital ICAMS. Attendees will be released from ICAMS to end conference.
