Program Description

This two-hour educational activity is designed for emergency physicians and advanced practice providers seeking to advance their proficiency in bedside echocardiography and integrate emerging artificial intelligence (AI) tools into clinical practice. Participants will review advanced cardiac POCUS techniques, refine image acquisition skills, and learn to interpret key cardiopulmonary findings relevant to emergency care. The course will also introduce the latest AI-enabled ultrasound tools, with a focus on their practical applications, benefits, and limitations in real-time clinical decision-making. A combination of didactic instruction and hands-on scanning will provide learners with immediately applicable skills to enhance diagnostic accuracy and workflow efficiency in the emergency department.

Learning Objectives

  • Obtain standard and selected advanced cardiac POCUS views used in emergency bedside echocardiography.
  • Identify and interpret key echocardiographic findings relevant to emergency cardiopulmonary pathology, including ventricular function and pericardial effusion.
  • Integrate focused bedside echocardiography findings into emergency department clinical decision-making and patient management.
  • Describe the appropriate use, advantages, and limitations of current AI-enabled POCUS tools in bedside echocardiographic acquisition and interpretation.

      • Real-time feedback from faculty

    Parking is complimentary at the Inova Center for Personalized Health Conference Center (ICPH) . Park in any Surface Lots.  Use Entrance 3 under the pedestrian bridge to enter the Conference Center and take stairs or elevator to level 2.
