Biography:
After completing my training, I worked in the prenatal genetics setting at Yale University for several years. To expand my knowledge I moved to Washington, DC to work at Children’s National working with children and their families affected by genetic diseases. After nearly ten years in the academic hospital setting, I joined the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. At Kaiser Permanente I used my experience to care for patients of varying specialties including prenatal, cancer, pediatrics, and general genetics. Within this role, I found my passion within cancer genetics and more specifically preventative care. I wished to bring my knowledge to a highly integrated healthcare system and joined the Inova team at the Saville Cancer Screening and Prevention Center in March of 2023.
As a genetic counselor, I feel it is my role to guide and support patients seeking information about how inherited cancer conditions might affect them or their families, and to interpret test results. I enjoy being able to make complex genetic terms and concepts understandable and useful to my patients allowing them to be able to make informed decisions.
