I am a Regulatory Analyst IV at Children's National Hospital in the Office for the Protection of Human Subjects, where I have been since January of 2021.  Previously, I was a Senior Analyst at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for 5 years.  I also have previous experience as a Research Coordinator. I have conducted multiple research projects on issues relating to the IRB such as Local IRBs vs Central IRBs, but my main focus has been on Assent, what the proper age to obtain assent is, and identifying variables to determine if a child is able to provide assent.  I have presented at National IRB conferences and had multiple abstracts published.
