Maryann Rossi, PhD

Maryann Rossi is the Education and Accreditation Manager in the Office for the Protection of Human Subjects (OPHS) at Children's National. She began her career as a research assistant while earning her master’s degree, and soon after became a co-investigator on an autism research project conducted jointly by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Maudsley Hospital in London, England.
Maryann came to Children’s National in 1995 as the project coordinator for a District of Columbia-wide initiative investigating infant mortality, and completed her doctorate in Developmental Psychology at the University of Maryland in 1997. She joined OPHS in 2005.
In her role as Education and Accreditation Manager, Maryann is responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and resources pertaining to human subject protections, writing and maintaining IRB and OPHS policies and procedures, and managing activities necessary to maintain Children’s National’s full accreditation by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, a distinction CN has held continuously since 2011.
