Maria Brooks, PhD Statistics University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Maria Mori Brooks is a Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Public Health. She earned her doctorate in statistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since 1995, she has been affiliated with the Epidemiology Data Center and currently serves as one of the co-directors. Dr. Brooks is the Principal Investigator of the Data Coordinating Center for two randomized clinical trials that study the role of red blood cell transfusion for patients with acute myocardial infarction and for persons with sickle cell disease. She is also the Principal Investigator of the Administrative and Data Cores of the Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation, a longitudinal cohort study of women as they transition through menopause into early old age. Dr. Brooks serves as the Director of the University of Pittsburgh CTSI Biostatistics Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Core.
