Neha Shah, MD, MPH
Dr. Shah is a pediatric hospitalist attending at Children’s National and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her undergraduate, medical degree and masters in public health at the George Washington University. She went on to complete her pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center. She has been the program director for the PHM fellowship at Children’s National since 2009. She has a unique perspective, having completed the PHM fellowship at Children’s National herself in 2008. She has gained national recognition for her leadership in advancing PHM fellowships through her work as Chair of the Council of PHM Fellowship Directors and as a member of the inaugural PHM Subboard for the American Board of Pediatrics.
Her area of scholarly expertise is in medical education, specifically in use of web-based technologies and virtual simulation in curriculum development and learner assessment. Recently, she has been most interested in exploring faculty vitality, professional wellbeing, and gender equity in academic medicine. In her free time, she lives in Alexandria VA with her husband and two amazing boys and enjoys reading, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
