Kathleen Ferrer, MD
Dr. Kathy Ferrer is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and is an attending physician in the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Division and the Special Immunology Section of the Infectious Disease Division at Children’s National Hospital (CNH). She currently serves as the Education Lead for CNH Global Health Initiative, co-Director of the Pediatric Residency Global Health Pathway, and Medical Director of Occupational Health. She also oversees the Kovler Immigrant Health Fund, which helps newly arrived immigrant children with complex medical conditions access essential medical care. Prior to joining Children’s National, she lived in Lesotho where she served as the Medical Director of the Baylor College of Medicine Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Clinical Centre of Excellence in Lesotho, assisting with a scale-up of pediatric HIV care and treatment for the country. Dr. Ferrer received her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Brown University before attending Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where earned her MD. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine.
