Tracy M Frech, MD, MSCI is the Division Director of the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her clinical research is focused on early diagnosis and effective health care delivery to the connective tissue disease-related Raynaud’s phenomenon and systemic sclerosis (SSc) patient population. Her clinical research program is designated as a center of excellence by the National Scleroderma Foundation and Scleroderma Clinical Trials Consortium. Through national and international collaborations, her work focuses on improvements in diagnosis and treatment of SSc through meticulous patient phenotyping. As a result of the work of interdisciplinary investigative teams, SSc is now being more effectively identified and treated as a vascular disease, and the American College of Rheumatology is integrating capillaroscopy into training curriculums.
