Courtney Quinn, MD
Dr. Courtney Quinn is a specialty care physician board eligible in orthopedic surgery at Inova Health System. She specializes in sports medicine and injuries of the knee, shoulder, foot and ankle. Her clinical areas of interest include ligament, meniscal and cartilage injuries of the knee, patellar (knee cap) instability, shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthritis, and foot and ankle sports injuries. Dr. Quinn is the head team physician for Loudoun United FC, assistant team physician for the Washington Spirit, medical consultant for D.C. United, and a team physician for George Mason University’s 30+ Club Sports teams.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Quinn completed her orthopedic surgery residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia (UVA). At UVA, she served as an assistant team physician for the football, women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse teams. Afterward, Dr. Quinn completed a mini-fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, CO, where she helped to care for the U.S. Ski Team.
Dr. Quinn has a particular interest in, and extensive experience treating, patellar instability. She performs complex reconstructions including trochlear groove deepening (trochleoplasty), tibial tubercle osteotomies, distal femoral osteotomies, cartilage restoration and soft tissue procedures.
