Sandra Brooks, MD, MBA, FACS, FACOG

Sandra E. Brooks, MD, MBA, FACS, FACOG, is the chief executive officer of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
A Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of Howard University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Medicine, Dr. Brooks completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She also holds an MBA in medical services management from Johns Hopkins University.
Prior to joining ACOG as CEO in 2024, Dr. Brooks served as chief medical officer at hospitals and health systems in New Jersey, Florida, and Pennsylvania. In these positions, she accomplished major initiatives focused on advancing health equity, patient safety and quality.
At ACOG, Dr. Brooks leads a membership organization of more than sixty thousand health care professionals dedicated to the field of obstetrics and gynecology and to improving the lives of all people seeking obstetric and gynecologic care, their families, and communities.
