Biography:

Marc Georgi, MD served as an academic hospitalist Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and an instructor of medicine then assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins school of medicine from 2007 to 2010. During his time at Johns Hopkins, he has received the Scott Wright Award for Excellence in Academic Medicine. He went on to complete his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Harvard training program at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston in 2013. He also trained in statistics, epidemiology and clinical research design at top ranking institutions including Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins Blumberg School of Public Health and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. 

He is currently an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and the system medical director of the inpatient gastroenterology service at INOVA Health. He is a member of the editorial board of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the official publication of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). He is also a reviewer for multiple gastroenterology journals including Gastroenterology, American Journal of Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He served on the abstract review committees for the American College of Gastroenterology national meeting in 2019-2024, the World Congress of Gastroenterology/American College of Gastroenterology national meeting in 2017, and the Digestive Disease Week 2022-2024. He is also the medical director and founder of Catalyst Medical Consulting, an institution that teaches trainees and faculty members how to use publicly available large databases to conduct clinical research through the Online Catalyst workshop and the advanced Catalyst Workshop
