Evan Sheppard, MD, obtained his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Children's National Hospital. Dr. Sheppard strongly believes that innovation and education drives quality and has authored many peer reviewed articles, presented at national meetings and was a Joseph E. Robert, Jr. fellow in pediatric surgical innovation at Children's National Hospital. He also routinely participates in resident education, giving lectures to the orthopaedic residents at Georgetown, George Washington, and Walter Reed.

Passionate about helping children recover from injuries, Dr. Sheppard takes pride in seeing his athletes return to the sports they love after overcoming significant physical and mental challenges. He is known for his patient-centered approach, excellent rapport with families, and commitment to answering questions with care and clarity.
