Otilia Neacsu, Pediatric Endocrinologist

I was born and raised in Romania where I completed Medical school. My combined Internal Medicine/Pediatric Residency in NYC was followed by Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship at Brown University. I left New England to join Inova in 2011 and have been here since.
I am board-certified in Pediatrics/ Pediatric Endocrinology/ Internal Medicine and enjoy participating in medical education as a Designator Assessor with UVA School of Medicine.
I am particularly interested in Thyroid pathology - thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer care, as well as adrenal gland disorders and Diabetes.
The American Thyroid Association (ATA) is my main professional association, where I enjoy participating in the Patient Education Committee, as well as trimestral Zoom patient meetings organized by ATA.
The Diabetes interest offered the opportunity to be a medical advisor and contributor to the publication of 4 educational books for children Re: type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as the privilege of leading Brainy Camp for kids with type 1 diabetes, as volunteer Medical Director.
When I’m not in clinic, I enjoy walking, hiking, biking, cooking with my husband and my 2 daughters, one Sophomore in College and one Freshie is High School.
