William Hamilton, Orthopedic surgeon
Dr. Hamilton, a native of Ithaca, New York, did his residency at the University of Pennsylvania in
Philadelphia, PA and adult reconstruction fellowship at the Anderson Clinic Postgraduate Fellowship
in Alexandria, VA where he currently practices. He also completed the Insall Knee Society traveling
fellowship in 2009. Dr. Hamilton maintains involvement in several local and national societies
including being a member of both the prestigious hip and knee societies.
Dr Hamilton has been involved in several leadership pursuits including serving as President of the
Anderson Clinic and President of the Washington and DC Orthopedic Society. He has served on
several AAOS and AAHKS committees, including the AAOS Hip Reconstruction committee, AAHKS
Quality measures committee, AAHKS Patient Education Committee, and founded 2 AAHKS
committees during and after COVID to include the FOCAL committee and the AAHKS Fellowship
committee. He is currently leading the efforts to establish fellowship accreditation in Adult
Reconstruction fellowships. He also serves as chair of the Digital media committee for the Hip and
Knee Society and is helping to innovate a new educational platform for adult reconstruction.
Dr. Hamilton enjoys Golf, Travel, and Guitar, but spends most of his leisure time with his wife, Beth,
and traveling with his 2 boys and daughter. Dr. Hamilton is proud to be a team member of Operation
Walk Virginia and has led several missions to Central and South America as well as participated
annually in Operation Walk USA
