Emmi Scott, PhD

Dr. Emmi Scott is a clinical neuropsychologist with specialty training in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly memory disorders and movement disorders. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC, where she subsequently joined the faculty as tenure-track assistant professor before moving to northern Virginia and joining Inova in 2024.
At Inova, Dr. Scott conducts neuropsychological evaluations for adults with memory concerns and provides assessment, consultation, and psychotherapy for individuals with functional neurological disorders (FND). She leads Inova's Functional Movement Disorder Interdisciplinary Clinic - a collaborative model integrating neurology, neuropsychology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Dr. Scott's research focuses on the characterization and measurement of outcomes in FND and functional cognitive disorder. She serves on the planning committee for the 6th International Functional Neurological Disorder Society Conference and is a member of the Psychological Treatment Education Subcommittee of the FND Society.
