Robert Silverman, MD
Dr. Robert Silverman has practiced pediatric dermatology for 39 years. He currently holds clinical faculty appointments in the departments of pediatric at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and INOVA Children’s Hospital in Fairfax, Va. (affiliated with the University of Virginia school of Medicine). Dr. Silverman has recently retired from private practice and is still teaching at Georgetown. He completed his medical training at the UVa, pediatrics at Children’s hospital of Buffalo, NY, Dermatology training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Oh, and Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Boston. He has been president of the Washington, DC Dermatological Society, and Society for Pediatric dermatology. After serving 9 years on the American Board of Dermatology he was vice president. He has authored over 70 publications and is an editor of Pediatric Nail Disorders with Dr. Robert Baran, and the Newest edition of Schachner and Hansen’s textbook of Pediatric Dermatology (Senior editor, Antonio Torrelo) Dr. Bob resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Pat. They and their two sons, Elliott and Bennett, love the outdoors, skiing, cycling and hiking in Colorado. Viticulture and oenology are recent pursuits.
