Stowe Locke Teti is a Senior Clinical Ethicist for Inova Health. He manages the clinical ethics consult service at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus and performs over 550 ethics consults per year across the campus’s five hospitals, Schar cancer center, four community hospitals, and associated outpatient clinics. He teaches clinical ethics to medical students and staff and runs the clinical ethics rotation for UVA Medicine. Stowe also leads small group discussion sessions through the Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown University Medical School where he sits on the Center for Health Equity Advisory Committee. He previously held an appointment as core teaching faculty at Harvard Medical School in the Center for Bioethics and was a lecturer in the department of Global Health and Social Medicine at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he sad on the Harvard Ethics Leaders Group, was director of the bioethics writing program and Executive Editor of the Harvard Bioethics Journal. Stowe cofounded and is PI of the Clinical Ethics Consultation Benchmarking Collaborative, a first of its kind annually iterating study of hospital ethics consultation practices across the United States, which seeks to benchmark practice standards and a leader in evidence-based clinical ethics consultation. He co-founded the Washington D.C Clinical Ethics Consortium and is longtime editor-in-chief of Pediatric Ethicscope: The Journal of Pediatric Bioethics, a peer-reviewed journal read in over 125 countries. Stowe is co-chair of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities Clinical Ethics Affinity Group and serves on the Clinical Ethics Consultation Affairs committee, which advises on practice standards and training materials in the field. Stowe has published 45 articles and book chapters in the field of clinical ethics and biomedicine and lectures nationally and internationally on subjects including critical care decision-making, decision theory, and empirical research in clinical ethics.
