Dr. Ifeoma Ugonabo is a board certified physician in Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine. She has also obtained subspecialty board certification in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and Cardiac CT. She offers a comprehensive array of services spanning from general cardiology, to cardio-oncology as well as managing patients with structural/valvular heart disease.

Dr. Ugonabo earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine as well as her Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at William Beaumont Health. She went on to complete an advanced cardiac imaging fellowship at Yale University’s Yale New Haven Hospital, with a focus in interventional echocardiography.

Prior to joining Inova Health, Dr. Ugonabo served as Director of Structural Echocardiography at the University of Tennessee HSC and Methodist LeBonheur Health. Her time there was dedicated to providing imaging guidance, and expertise for a variety of transcatheter cardiac interventions.

Dr. Ugonabo’s clinical interests include general cardiology, cardio-oncology, structural/valvular heart disease, and echocardiography.

Dr. Ugonabo is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) as well as a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE).

In her free time, Dr. Ugonabo enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
