Ashley Battarbee, MD, MSCR

Dr. Ashley Battarbee is an Associate Professor in the division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, U.S.A.. Her primary clinical and research focus is the management of diabetes in pregnancy with the overarching goal of improving both short-term pregnancy outcomes and long-term maternal and child health. To that end, she is currently the Principal Investigator of two multicenter, randomized clinical trials - one evaluating the optimal method of glycemic management after antenatal corticosteroids and the second evaluating the effectiveness of continuous glucose monitoring for management of type 2 diabetes in pregnancy. She also serves as site-PI for multiple other clinical trials of type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes in pregnancy and serves as Director of the UAB Diabetes in Pregnancy Program to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care for patients with diabetes in pregnancy.
