ketrell mcwhorter, PhD, MBA
Dr. Ketrell L. McWhorter is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. As a chronic disease epidemiologist, her research seeks to elucidate how modifiable exposures, such as maternal glycemic variability, sleep disturbance, tobacco use, and other lifestyle behaviors, shape long-term pain interference, inflammation, and cardiometabolic risk across the lifecourse.
As an Achieving Success in Community-Engaged Research to ElimiNate Disparities ( or ASCEND) Scholar awardee, Dr. McWhorter integrates longitudinal studies with biomarker science and community-engaged research approaches to identify biological pathways and intervention opportunities for communities with limited access to specialty care.
