Dr. Jantausch is an Attending Physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.  She is a Professor of Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. 

Dr. Jantausch is the Education Lead, Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases, for the Division of Infectious Diseases.  Dr. Jantausch has an interest in Global Health and is a member of the National Chagas Network.  She serves on the Global Health Committee of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society.  She has published multiple papers on tropical and emerging diseases including congenital infections with Zika virus, malaria and Chagas disease. 

She has given multiple presentations on tropical medicine and global health topics.  She has spoken at national meetings and participated in symposia on global health topics such as Evaluation of the Febrile Pediatric Traveler.  Currently Dr. Jantausch is mentoring one of the Infectious Disease Fellows on a review of patients with severe malaria admitted to a Children's Hospital, in which hospital course and Artesunate therapy is discussed.  Dr. Jantausch regularly presents at the Children's Global Health Initiative and has utilized interactive online learning modules to engage learners and enhance their critical thinking about malaria and congenital Chagas disease.  

Dr. Jantausch is a former Pediatric Infectious Disease Fellowship Program Director.  She is a member of the Children's Academy of Pediatric Educators (CAPE).  Dr. Jantausch has won numerous teaching awards including 13 Golden Apples awarded to the Division of Infectious Diseases and two individual citations from the Pediatric Housestaff.  She was selected by her faculty peers to receive the prestigious Elda Arce Award.  Dr. Jantauch serves as the current Scholarly Oversight Committee (SOC) Chairman for numerous Infectious Diseases and Neonatology Fellows.  She is a member of the Clinical Competency Committee for Infectious Diseases Fellows.
