TyKera Marrow, PhD
Dr. Marrow, a Baltimore native and 2023 graduate from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, is a compassionate advocate for historically and intentionally marginalized groups and communities. Her clinical and research approaches facilitate personal and communal relationships and empowerment through critically analyzing systemic and institutional impediments that cause, contribute to, and sustain health disparities. “The person is political,” and Dr. Marrow interrogates systems of inequality in a manner that prioritizes the unique and intersectional qualities of the individual and the ecological nature of relationships to facilitate integrative wellness. Currently, she serves as a perinatal psychology postdoctoral fellow with the Developing Brain Institute at Children’s National. As mentioned, Dr. Marrow is passionate about examining constructs that maintain medical mistrust in historically disenfranchised populations, intersectionality and health care, improving healthcare utilization, and utilizing culturally responsive and communal adaptions of evidence-based clinical approaches. Dr. Marrow is a passionate advocate and employs a culturally responsive, integrative and collaborative approach to foster a strong and supportive therapeutic relationship.
