Rev. Durstine, M.Div. BCCI-APC, CCISM
Kathleen is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ, endorsed for the specific work of hospital chaplaincy. She received her M.Div. from Harvard University. She has served professionally in both congregational ministry and healthcare chaplaincy.
Her specializations include mental health care and pediatric care. She has been a member of the faculty of the Pediatric Chaplains Institute, the educational arm of the Pediatric Chaplains Network since 2007 and has served in the past at GWU in the medical education program psychosocial preparation of students.
She has written and published on spiritual care of children, is currently serving on an international panel of pediatric chaplains designing research into the work of healthcare chaplains in the pediatric environment.
Kathleen is an avid reader, enjoys writing poetry and short stories, is married with two children and two grandchildren.
