Dr Derkay is the Fine Endowed Professor of Pediatric Otolaryngology and Vice -Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia where he has practiced since his Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s National in 1988-89. He is a Past-President of ASPO and SENTAC and past-Chair of the AAO-HNS Pediatric Otolaryngology committee and the American College of Surgeons’ Otolaryngology Advisory Council. His research focus has been on HPV and Recurrent Respiratory Papillomas where he has been funded by CDC and served as Chair of the RRP Task Force. He has published over 150 peer reviewed papers and 30 book chapters. Married to Dr Kris Kennedy with two grown children, he endeavor's to spend more of his time now with his 3 grandchildren in Key West.
