Barbara Boardman, MD, MPH, FAAP
Dr Boardman is currently co-chair of advocacy committee of the Virginia chapter of the AAP and an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at Georgetown Medical School. She was in pediatric practice with Kaiser Permanente for over 20 years retiring in She has testified to the state legislature and state commissions on various topics including gun violence prevention, health care workforce and scope of practice. She is also active in the Medical Society of Virginia and is on the MSV PAC board.
In addition to being a pediatrician with Kaiser-Permanente for over 15 years, retiring in 2019. She was a member of the National Academy of Science, Committee on Pesticides in the Diets of Infants and Children and was a coauthor of the book published by the committee. She was a Congressional Fellow and Senior Analyst with the U.S. Congress, Office of Technology Assessment active on developing legislation on assistive technology for the disability community. She has served on the Fairfax County School Board Health Committee and is currently active with the Fairfax League of Women Voters as advocacy chair.
Dr Boardman received a BA in Sociology from Swarthmore College. She received her MD from Temple University and completed her pediatric residency at Boston City Hospital (now Boston Medical Center). She received her MPH from Harvard.
