Florencia Segura, MD, FAAP
Dr. Florencia Segura, MD, FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician in private practice at Einstein Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Before joining Einstein Pediatrics in 2018, Dr. Segura practiced as a primary care pediatrician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Segura is deeply committed to medical education and serves as a continuity clinic preceptor and primary care lecturer for pediatric residents at Inova Children’s Hospital. She also contributes expert, evidence-based pediatric advice to national media outlets, including Parents Magazine, Healthline, The New York Times, and VeryWell Family.
In May 2024, Dr. Segura and her family experienced the sudden, unexpected death of their 18-month-old daughter, Rosalie “Rosie”, due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). Now, she serves as an ambassador for the SUDC Foundation, raising awareness and advocating for research. Dr. Segura is also an active member of the AAP Section on Child Death Review and Prevention.
Outside of her clinical and advocacy work, Dr. Segura enjoys running, experimenting with easy recipes for her children, and spending time with her family—often with a cup of coffee. She lives with her husband, a local dermatologist, and their now two children.
