Employment History:

• System APP Director for Inova Health System/ Medicine Service Line APP Director:  Inova Health System Falls Church Virginia.  May 2021 to present.  Administrative responsibilities including serving as an expert on advanced practice providers (PA’s, NP’s, CRNA’s, and CNM).  Working with Inova senior leadership, Service Lines, and hospital leaders and provide advice on the overall coordination and management of APPs throughout the health system.  Engage System, facility, and service line leaders to enhance recruitment, retention, and appropriate utilization of resources. Working with leaders to ensure Inova is positioned to comply with national, state, and local laws and regulations for APPs, including but not limited to appropriate: scope of practice, credentialing, privileging, ongoing/focused professional practice evaluation, prescriptive authority, role and relationships with collaborating physicians, billing, competencies, and professional development.  Responsible for budget management and fiscal responsibility across multiple service lines and specialties as it applies to advanced practice providers. Maintain clinical practice in critical care medicine including critical care admissions, consults, and management of patients while in the ICU and intermediate care unit.  Procedural responsibilities include placement of central lines, dialysis access, arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, paracentesis, swan ganz catheters, lumbar puncture, and intubation.  Management of complex critical care patients in various ICU settings including Neuroscience, Medical/Surgical, Cardiac, and Cardiac Surgery
• Chief Advanced Practice Provider/ Medicine Service Line APP Director :  Department of Medicine/ Medical Critical Care Service, Inova Fairfax Hospital.  Falls Church Virginia.  April 2013 to May 2021.  Responsibilities include management of Medical Critical Care Services across Inova hospitals including Advanced Practice Provider (NP and PA) staff.  Coordination of staffing including hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, ensuring appropriate credentialing, development of practice agreements, delineation of privileges, coordination of supervising physician support, development of practice protocols.  Clinical responsibilities include critical care admissions, consults, and management of patients while in the ICU and intermediate care unit.  Procedural responsibilities include placement of central lines, dialysis access, arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, paracentesis, swan ganz catheters, lumbar puncture, and intubation.  Management of complex critical care patients in various ICU settings including Neuroscience, Medical/Surgical, Cardiac, and Cardiac Surgery.
