Sumeet Mitter, MD, MSc, FACC
Dr. Sumeet Singh Mitter is a native of Moorpark, California. He attended Georgetown University for his undergraduate studies in mathematics. He later received his medical degree from UCLA, during which time he was designated an NIH/Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholar and spent a year working in Fortaleza, Brazil. He later completed his internal medicine training at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and fellowships in cardiology and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
He previously was on faculty at Mount Sinai Heart in New York where he has been active in clinical trials for transthyretin amyloidosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and remote hemodynamic monitoring with the CardioMEMS and Cordella PA sensor platforms. He now joins Inova Schar Heart & Vascular's heart failure section as the Director of the Infiltrative and Restrictive Cardiomyopathy Center and will be actively engaged in expanding access to clinical trials as the Associate Director of Cardiomyopathy Research.
