Barbra McCabe, B. Jill McCabe, MD, MBA, FAAP
Dr. McCabe is an ER pediatrician at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia. She has been practicing Pediatric Emergency Medicine for the past 18 years, and before that worked as a primary care Pediatrician. She is currently the Medical Director of the Pediatric Emergency Department, the Pediatric Hospitalist Service at Inova Loudoun Hospital, and a senior partner of Commonwealth Emergency Physicians. In addition, she is the physician director for medical staff peer review and clinical excellence for the Inova Health System and is a clinical instructor of Pediatrics at Georgetown Medical School.
Dr. McCabe graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 1994. She completed her residency training at the University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 1997. She recently completed the Executive MBA program at Duke University, the Fuqua School of Business, including a certificate in health care management.
Dr. McCabe has an interest in child advocacy and government affairs. In 2015 she was a candidate for state senate. Although unsuccessful in her run for office, she continues to work to help improve access to health care and health insurance, and feels that physician advocacy is critical to improving both. She recently became a member of 100 Women Strong, a non-profit group that pools resources to support organizations that address shelter, health, hunger, education and mental health needs in Loudoun County, VA.
