Dr. Lauren James is a Portsmouth Virginia native, she is graduate of Spelman College and Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. For four years she worked as Site Lead with Bon Secours and Medical Director for the Maryview Foundation. Following that she served as the Director of the Portsmouth Health Department for three years. In the fall of 2021, she joined INOVA as the Medical Director for INOVA Clinic Cares for Families and is a provider with INOVA Juniper. Lauren is married to Ian Vaughan and they have two young daughters Ava and Audrey.
