Wendy Thompson is a Nurse Practitioner at Inova Health System in Fairfax, Virginia who specializes in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. She originally attended Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia where she received a Diploma in Registered Nursing in 1998. Wendy served as a nurse in outpatient and inpatient oncology settings at the Virginia Commonwealth University, in Richmond, Virginia. While working as a Registered Nurse, she furthered her education obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree and then a Master of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Wendy is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and licensed in Virginia. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Wendy sees adults for a variety of sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep-related breathing disorders, central disorders of hypersomnolence, circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders, parasomnias and sleep-related movement disorders. Wendy strives to ensure each of her patients leaves their visit feeling heard and with a comprehensive understanding of their illness. With this in mind, she prioritizes quality care and lasting results. Furthermore, she partners with her patients, so together they can create a healthcare plan that fits their unique needs.
