Laura Kueny, MD
Dr. Laura Kueny is a dedicated pediatric and adult ophthalmologist, with an academic and professional track record that spans over a decade. A Virginia native, she received both her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and her Doctorate of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University. She further honed her medical expertise through an intern year at Washington Hospital Center, DC, followed by a specialized Ophthalmology residency at Georgetown University and Washington Hospital Center. To deepen her specialization in children's eye health, she undertook a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Children's National Hospital.
In 2019, Dr. Laura Kueny relocated to Arizona with her husband, Patrick. Together, they practiced pediatric ophthalmology at ABC Children's Eye Specialists for four years, providing comprehensive care to children, covering a wide range of conditions including strabismus, cataracts, glaucoma, and blocked tear ducts.
Driven by a deep-seated commitment to extend her services to underprivileged communities, Dr. Kueny founded Little Eyes International in 2021. This non-profit organization aims to provide pediatric eye care to underserved areas, with a particular focus on Sonora, Mexico.
Beyond her medical practice, Dr. Kueny has a passion for fitness and is a certified yoga instructor. She cherishes the great outdoors and frequently spends her free time in nature. At home, she finds joy in the company of her husband, their son, and their pet dog. With her holistic approach to health, community service, and a warm, caring demeanor, she continues to provide exceptional ophthalmological care to her patients.
