An Update on Alzheimer's Disease Diagnosis and Therapeutics

Learning Objectives:

• How is Alzheimer's Disease best diagnosed? 
We will review available biomarkers, including serum testing, cognitive testing, spinal fluid analysis, and nuclear medicine scans.
• How is AD treated?
We will review the new amyloid targeting monoclonal antibodies, their efficacies and risks, and who is a good candidate for these drugs. We will also review the non-DMT options for AD treatment.
• How can we help a patient with AD in a 20 – 30 minute neuro appointment?
Brief review of AD resources that can be given by any neurologist wanting to help someone with cognitive impairment.
