Dr. Sarada Krishnamurthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cancer Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a board-certified Medical Oncologist and Hematologist with more than two decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. She specializes in hematologic malignancies, classical hematology, stem cell transplantation, and cellular therapies, with a particular focus on the inpatient management of complex oncology patients. 

After earning her MBBS from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research in India, Dr. Krishnamurthy completed her Internal Medicine residency and Hematology/Medical Oncology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Her career has spanned academic medicine, private practice, international oncology leadership, and cancer care innovation in both the United States and India.

At Wake Forest, Dr. Krishnamurthy serves as a core educator and mentor for residents, fellows, medical students, and international scholars. She has held numerous institutional leadership roles, including Ombudsman for the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, and participates in multiple transplant, cellular therapy, quality improvement, and hematology-focused committees. She is actively involved in clinical research as a co-investigator on numerous clinical trials in lymphoma, multiple myeloma, CAR-T therapy, and graft-versus-host disease. 

Dr. Krishnamurthy is widely recognized for her commitment to teaching, mentorship, patient advocacy, and community engagement. Her honors include the 2024 Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine and the 2025 Award for Outstanding Teaching from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Beyond her academic work, she has dedicated significant efforts to cancer screening initiatives, global mentorship, humanitarian service, and fundraising for cancer research and patient advocacy.
