Prof. Dr. Georg Trummer has been a cardiovascular surgeon at the University Hospital Freiburg from 1996-2026.  He specialized in emergency medicine, critical care and ECMO therapy. Based on his research the Start-up Resuscitec GmbH was founded in 2010 engineering and implementing CARL therapy and device into the field of cardiac arrest and resuscitation. As of March 2026, he became CMO of Resuscitec GmbH but is still affiliated in education and research with the University Hospital Freiburg
